Trust Him in the Storm
Going through a storm?
No one is immune to the storms of life. And when trouble hits, people often give up. They look at the storm and become overwhelmed.
However, do you know you have the power to walk through a storm as either a victor or a victim? And, the more you gain victory over your storms, the less they begin to bother you.
Storms will not come without warning. Just like the sirens sound to warn of a tornado, God will always send you a warning before the storm of life are going to hit you or your family.
In Acts 27:21 God had warned Paul of the impending danger and he, in turn, tried to warn those on board the ship with him. Yet they refused to listen,
In the middle of the tempest, Paul said, “I tried to warn you but because you didn’t listen, we are in the middle of this mess right now.
There is a lot of accusations of hate out on social media and on the news right now. But stop and consider this for a moment: what if people don’t really hate you, What if they are trying to warn you of the oncoming storm?
Paul went on to say, I have heard from God and I know we are going to make it. The boat may not be saved but you are going to make it through this storm alive.
He was in the storm because of someone else’s decision, it wasn’t his choice and but he did have a choice to go through the storm by faith.
Paul had a choice to depend on God. Because of a dream God gave him, he saw the way out when the storms were still crashing in around all of them. He knew God would save them.
God is speaking to you right now and wants you to know you’re going to make it!
In the middle of the storm you are facing, there is an anchor to drop down to hold your ship steady even as the waves are crashing in around you.
God will never leave you or forsake you. You are not alone in the storm. Get alone with God until you hear his voice. Find scriptures that speak to your heart regarding your circumstances.
Make a determination that the storm is not going to bring you down but instead, you will become stronger and your faith will get stronger. You will come out on the other side with a new testimony of God’s faithfulness. You can use what you have been through to reach someone who is also going through a storm.
