Pushing Back the Darkness
Like Bilbo Baggins, my life is considered to be very respectable. I rarely have any adventures or do anything unexpected as that is not acceptable behavior… for the Bagginses or for me.
However, also like Bilbo, the Wizard has knocked on the door of my heart and summoned me on an unexpected journey.
At the end of the journey, there is a promise of having my name written in the Lamb’s book of life and a home of eternal glory.
The Journey, however, this journey, promises to be fraught with trials, and detours, mountains, valleys and places to which I am afraid to go, places we have not been prior.
But go we must for there is a darkness that is pushing over the land.
When I look to the heavens, it is like a great ink blot spreading in the realm of the spirit. And the only way to push this darkness back is through the power of prayer.
Our children and our land have been taken by the enemy and it is up to us to go out with our spiritual weapons and wage war in the Heavenlies until we
The Adventure
So to this adventure, I am called. I won’t lead the expedition for the Great Wizard is the one with the map and the knowledge of the land we are going to enter.
I am but a member of the expedition. But it’s not just me. All of us have been given the task of helping to push the darkness back.
And when we do, we will witness a great revival, a restoration of life that has been stolen. All of us will bring back our mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, and children, especially the children.
We will go on the journey, led by the map the great wizard has prepared for us. We will find the spiritual riches we had given up for lost.
So, grab your bags and your walking stick for we are heading out.
Like Steven Curtis Chapman says,
“We’ve got a trail to blaze through the wild blue yonder of God’s amazing grace. Let’s follow our leader into the glorious unknown. This is a life like no other. This is a great adventure.”
Are you ready for the great adventure?
Set your alarm in the morning and get your prayer journal ready…
I’ll meet you on the prayer battlefield!
We have battles to win!
Wow! This gave me chills, in a good way! We are in the midst of a great battle and we better be armed and ready. We know the ultimate ending, but until that day, we must be on our knees praying and standing in the gap. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ”Ephesians 6:12
Your response really blessed me Lindsay! You’re right. Our battle is against spiritual forces. I am thankful that God gives us the victory.
