GOD IS THE DREAM GIVER
THE DREAM
Has God ever given you a dream? Not the kind of dream that wakes you up at night but the kind of dream where He speaks to your heart in a time of silence and gives you something great and wonderful that He wants you to do or to create? A dream that’s almost impossible for the human mind to fathom?
He plants those dreams in all of our hearts. And though the dreams are big or small, none of them are ever impossible. At the same time, however, they are rarely easy. They require us to exercise our faith to bring them into existence.
And, of course, there are always those voices of fear that try to hold us back.
Dreams can be scary. They are just that, after all, dreams. We ponder, we hope, we pray, we doubt and we are afraid. We’re afraid of failing. We’re afraid to step out in faith.
But no doubt so
Our dreams are like the tiny cloud that showed up when Elijah prayed for rain. That cloud seemed so small and so insignificant he could easily have ignored it.
But Elijah knew it was the answer to his prayers. He knew that little cloud was the sign of a giant rainstorm. He didn’t doubt that God was about to change history
It’s the same thing for what God has spoken in your heart. That tiny cloud of hope is all you need to reach through the clouds of faith and to bring your dream into reality.
For, just like Esther in the Old Testament, who knows but that you have come to (this life) for such a time as this!
God placed that dream in your heart for a reason. He wants you to step out by faith and be obedient to what He has called you to do.
WRITE IT DOWN
SO IF THAT’S TRUE, WHERE DO WE START?
Start by writing down every detail of the vision you have in your heart. Write down what it will look like when it comes to pass. Write it down like it has come to pass.
Keep it posted where you can see it. Start waking up a half hour earlier than usual. Then every morning, take what you have written and read it to yourself. Get a journal and rewrite a synopsis of your dream. Make a note of any ideas that come to you that will help you create your dream. List any websites, courses, Youtube videos or scriptures that will provide you with education or encouragement or anything you will need to bring your dream to pass.
Rewriting and reviewing your dream daily will help you keep track of where you are, and where you are going and what’s left to do.
“Write the vision; make it plain on
tablets, so he may run who reads it. Habakkuk 2:2
TALK IT OUT
If possible, talk out your dream with a trusted supporter or supporters. Form a mastermind group or get together a team of people that you can bounce ideas off of or who will help you with tangible goal-related tasks.
If you
Word of warning, though, do not share your dream with a dream killer. Whether it’s your spouse, your sister, cousin, neighbor or your best friend, if they don’t support your dream, don’t let them discourage you from what you know you are supposed to be doing.
TAKE A CLASS
Next, if you need help or new skills that you don’t currently have, take a class, watch a Youtube video, subscribe to a podcast. Be brave and ask for help.
These days you can find an online course on just about any subject through paid sites like Udemy or Skillshare. You can also find free information from Youtube and Google searches.
The important thing is to start to create as soon as possible and track your dream every day.
NEXT MAKE A PLAN
As you gather information, start to put your plan together to make it happen.
Start at the beginning and work on that first step. Take small steps each day. Be consistent. Wake up and do something, anything toward the dream that you have in your heart. Dreams sometimes just manifest themselves but most of the time they take preparation and hard work.
Each small step is going to take you closer to the finish line. Work on planning, writing, researching your dream or contacting someone to help you create a tangible part of your goal.
Write out your top three goals in your journal each day and keep transferring those goals to your journal pages until they’re complete.
In Proverbs God says that someone who plans well will foresee dangers and avoid them, but the foolish person (a non-planner) will rush ahead, do whatever’s convenient, and end up paying the penalty. (Larry Burkett)
TEACH IT
One of the best ways to solidify what you are learning is to teach what you have learned. When you have to take something and break it down in a way other people understand it, it helps you to also understand the information better.
Take what you have learned and speak into other people’s lives. Help them create a plan for their own dreams.
Help them turn where they are right now into where they want to be. The following quote sums it up well.
The best way to learn is to teach-

- Talk it out. Talk out your dream with a trusted friend or a mastermind group. Two heads are always better than one.
- Take an online class or research information through Youtube or Google. There’s always something you can learn to bring you closer to your goal.

What is it you believe you need to work on to fulfill your purpose?
Very lovely article!
We are of similar minds. Really like the practicality in which you approach the moving forward. I would only add that we should also include/concentrate on how it would FEEL when we achieve the goal.
Thanks, Jo
That’s a good point! Thank you, Jo.
